About Journal of Linguistics Research
Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi (Journal of Linguistics Research) is an academic journal that has been published since 1990.
Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi (Journal of Linguistics Research) has become an open-access journal since 2015, issue 1. The journal publishes fully open access issues, which means that as soon as an issue becomes available on the journal’s website (http://dad.boun.edu.tr/en/), it is freely available for download. Distribution and non-commercial use in any medium is permitted as long as the author and the journal are properly acknowledged.
- Between 2015 and 2023 the journal was printed by Boğaziçi University Press on demand.
- Digital versions of the articles published in the journal in 1990-1999 and the journal issues that are out of print are accessible from the Archive section of the journal website.
- As of 2023, the publisher of the journal has been the Linguistics Association.
- The Linguistics Association is a non-governmental organization with no commercial purpose and is an association of which academics of linguistics in Turkey are members.
- Journal of Linguistics Research continues its publication life online and with “print on demand” model.

Aim & Scope of Journal of Linguistics Research
The main goal of the journal is to support the development of general linguistics in Turkey encouraging contributions of scientific quality. The journal also invites contributions on issues pertaining to various aspects of language that would be of interest to a broad range of readers and aims to be a platform of discussion of such topics. The journal is primarily devoted to problems of contemporary linguistics in Turkish and other Turkic languages and publishes papers written in Turkish or English both in theoretical and applied linguistics.
The Journal publishes
- Articles on all fields of linguistics,
- Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary linguistics oriented works,
- Articles primarily related to Turkish and other Turkic languages; comparative, descriptive, theoretical and applied written in Turkish or English,
- Articles aiming at the development of linguistics with high quality,
- Original research articles that comply with the conventions of science, and review articles that include the introduction of innovative and current research, as well as critical book reviews.
Furthermore;
- Studies outside the field of linguistics are not accepted to the journal.
- Journal of Linguistics Research also publishes special issues. In this regard, the journal editors may invite researchers to guest editorship. Articles to be published in special issues are subject to peer-review as in other issues. At the same time, academics who want to edit an issue related to the topics covered in the journal may also apply to the journal editors.
- All articles published in the journal go through a double-blind peer-review process.
- The articles submitted to the journal must be original works that have not been published or sent to be published elsewhere. For scientific evaluation, manuscripts accepted in accordance with the journal article submission rules and the scope of the journal are sent to at least two reviewers who are experts in their fields. Editorial Board members evaluate each article in terms of suitability, either before or after the comments of the reviewers. The editorial board makes the final decision for all submitted manuscripts. The Editorial Board of the journal is committed to complying with the criteria of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
